Despite being increasingly known for predicting – at least – dozens of catastrophic crashes with precision hovering near 0%, the investor and author of the best-selling personal finance book ‘Rich Dad Poor Dad,’ Robert Kiyosaki, has been trading with noteworthy success.

His investments have been particularly lucrative in 2024 as most of his favored assets – Bitcoin (BTC), gold, and silver, most notably – have all been performing well and recording multiple new and increasingly high all-time highs (ATH).

By January 31, one of Kiyosaki’s most-recommended commodities, gold, quietly reached a new (ATH), and Finbold decided to examine just how lucrative a portfolio would be based on ‘Rich Dad’s’ picks in the first month of 2025.

Did Kiyosaki’s most favored assets appreciate in January

Looking at the famous three, having them in a portfolio would have been exceptionally lucrative in January 2025 despite the significant market volatility. Bitcoin, for example, is up 11.69% in the year-to-date (YTD) chart and is changing hands at $104,241 at press time.

Therefore, a $1,000 investment made at the start of the year would have turned into $1,116.9.

Gold, notable for hitting a new ATH, is up a somewhat more modest 6.43% to $2,794, meaning that $1,000 on January 1 would be, by January 30, $1,064.3.

Silver has likewise performed well, being up 6.9% YTD to $31.609. Investors who purchased $1,000 worth of the commodity on or just after New Year’s Day would, at press time, have $1,069.

Kiyosaki’s less prominent investments returned this much in 2025

Though mentioned infrequently. Kiyosaki also owns and backs multiple other assets. The exact appreciation of real estate and wagyu cattle is difficult to gauge, but the same is not the case for Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH).

SOL, for example, performed similarly – though evidently better – than the other ‘Rich Dad’ assets as it is up 24.78% in 2025 to its press time price of $235.61. A $1,000 investment made at the start of the year would have, By January 31, become $1,247.8.

ETH, on the other hand, is a standout as it experienced a 2.12% YTD decline and is changing hands at $3,261.10. Following that, a $1,000 Ethereum investment would have actually decreased to $978.80.

Finally, if a trader elects to split a $1,000 investment into equal parts and buy $200 worth of each of the five assets, they would have $1,095.36 at press time – a 9.54% increase.

What does Robert Kiyosaki predict for 2025?

Looking ahead, it is difficult to tell what Robert Kiyosaki’s recommendations are. Despite forecasting that February will witness a major downturn, as Finbold reported on January 27, the author has been bullish in his political commentary, repeatedly expressing gratitude for Donald Trump’s re-election and the expected national and economic renaissance.

Still, looking at Kiyosaki’s entire track record, it is likely his basic recommendations – BTC, gold, and silver – are still in play, as he has repeatedly implied either that the three will be largely unaffected by the coming crash or that they will rally so much after the fact, that buying is the right call no matter what.
