Investment Firm Predicts $400 Billion in Institutional Investment in Bitcoin by 2026

Institutional capital flowing into Bitcoin will exceed $400 billion by the end of 2026, according to a new report published by crypto asset management firm Bitwise Asset Management and UTXO Management.

These investments are expected to lead to a total accumulation of 4.2 million BTC.

While more than $120 billion in institutional inflows into Bitcoin are expected in 2025, this figure is expected to reach $300 billion in 2026. This rapid growth will be driven not only by the private sector but also by state-supported strategies.

Following US President Donald Trump’s announcement in March that he would establish a strategic Bitcoin reserve, bills aimed at converting confiscated Bitcoins into treasury assets have emerged in more than 20 states. If these initiatives, led by states such as New Hampshire and Arizona, become law, an additional $19 billion in capital flow into Bitcoin is expected.

According to the report, at least five states in the US and four other countries, such as Bhutan, are expected to establish their own strategic Bitcoin reserves by 2026. This process is also expected to increase the number of publicly traded Bitcoin treasuries. Firms such as MicroStrategy are expected to add more than 1 million BTC to their portfolios in total.

These companies are also expected to focus on Bitcoin-based yield strategies, such as lending and staking, by 2026, further increasing the interest of institutional investors.

“We are entering a new era of Bitcoin adoption that is no longer driven by hype cycles, but by balance sheet fundamentals, sovereign strategies and long-term liabilities,” said Guillaume Girard, research director at UTXO Management.

“Over the next 18 months, Bitcoin will solidify its place as a global store of value,” said Juan Leon, senior investment strategist at Bitwise.
