World of Women (WoW), the prominent non-fungible token (NFT) collection known for celebrating womanhood and female representation, has announced Vi Powils’ appointment as its new Chief Executive Officer.
Powils has been an active figure in the crypto industry for years, gaining recognition as an early female leader in the space. Her experience spans investing, advising global hedge funds and family offices, and co-founding multiple crypto startups. Her new role at WoW marks one of her most high-profile leadership positions to date.
Celebrating womanhood
WoW was launched in 2021 by digital artist Yam Karkai and comprises 10,000 algorithmically generated portraits of women from diverse cultural backgrounds. It has become one of the most sought-after NFT collections, founding a community that celebrates representation, diversity, and inclusivity for women worldwide.
The collection has also had considerable success, establishing partnerships with big-name brands such as Samsung Electronics, Mastercard, Michelin, FC Barcelona, Sephora, Hasbro, and LVMH’s Cloudy Bay while donating over $2 million to charities that support women in need and emerging female artists.
The NFTs themselves currently hold a floor price of 0.39 ETH (approximately $1,000) on OpenSea and have generated over $400 million in trading volume since their debut. Among their milestones is a record sale at Christie’s auction house. The collection is built on the Tezos blockchain, which operates on a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism known for its energy efficiency.
New CEO outlines bold vision for WoW’s next chapter
Vi Powils, a serial entrepreneur with a track record of supporting crypto startups during key growth phases, said she is honored to lead WoW in its next phase. In her previous role, she served as Director of Business Development at Pudgy Penguins, another high-profile NFT project that reached a valuation of over $1 billion during her tenure.

Vi Powils has already outlined a bold vision for the next chapter of World of Women (WoW), emphasizing new products and community-driven initiatives to expand the project’s impact. While details remain under wraps, Powils hinted that several partnerships are already in the pipeline.
“WoW didn’t just launch a collection – it lit a fire,” she said. “It brought people together, built a global family, and proved that art with purpose can change lives. Now we get to turn that spark into something lasting: a family, a sanctuary, a place where dreams take off – and no one chases them alone.”
Calling this moment a pivotal evolution rather than a restart, Powils stressed that WoW is just getting started.
“This is just the beginning,” she insisted. “It’s not a reset, it’s a rise. We’re becoming the engine and fuel for the next generation of dreamers.”
Katie Hegarty, chief of staff at Tezos development hub Trilitech, echoed that sentiment, noting WoW’s potential to drive long-term change in the Web3 space.
“They’ve built something that goes beyond art or community,” she said. “It’s a platform where women reshape Web3. As part of the Tezos ecosystem, WoW has everything needed to turn this cultural moment into lasting change.”
